ARRL WAS America 250 Award
ARRL has a WAS America 250 award this year to help celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States of America. The cool thing is the opportunity to work under the W1AW/3 call during the event.
Each state has a week long operating challenge once in the spring and once in the fall. Pennsylvania’s spring week is April 29th to May 5th.
Operating time 0000 UTC April 29th to 2359 UTC May 5th.
The objective is to work as many stateside contacts as possible during that time. All bands except 60 meters are open to work. SSB, CW and digital modes like FT4, FT8, and RTTY are allowed.
There are a few endorsements also possible.
- WAS for working a W1AW/x station in each state over the course of 2026
- Working ARRL affiliated clubs
- Various band and mode endorsements
Certificate fees and award structure very similair to the traditional ARRL WAS awards.

When I contacted him about the event. He ask me to submit my call sign and then was emailed two PDF documents with operating and logging instructions. I plan to participate and look forward to the event. Nothing like some more wall art to brag about.
